MCPE 0.13.0 New Feature Announced: Desert Temples!

Hey everyone,

The team has some extremely exciting news today. Tommaso Checchi has confirmed that desert temples will be added in MCPE 0.13.0!

Take a look at the developer’s tweet below:

For those of you that don’t know, Desert Temples are just temples that spawn in the desert biome. They are sometimes buried a bit, but the top of the temple is almost always above ground.

They are made from all 3 types of sandstone, orange and blue stained clay, sandstone slabs, and sandstone stairs. In the center of the temple’s floor there is a block of blue stained clay.

There is a hidden chamber underneath this block, with 4 chests that have really good loot in them. Of course, it’s Minecraft, so the hidden chamber has a TNT trap.

There is a stone pressure plate right underneath the blue stained clay. So when you break the blue stained clay, you fall on the pressure plate.

The pressure plate is connected to a 3 x 3 x 1 grid of TNT, which when you fall on the pressure plate, blows you and the chests with the valuable loot up.

To avoid blowing yourself and the loot up, dig through one of the blocks next to the blue stained clay, so that you avoid the pressure plate.

Desert Temples weren’t added in a previous update as they have pressure plates which require redstone, which wasn’t in MCPE until Update 0.13.0.

Do you want Desert Temples in MCPE, so that you can go inside them and see if you are smart enough to avoid their traps?

We’ll keep you updated on the latest MCPE news and features,

Happy Minecrafting Everyone!
